What is CYIA?

Christian Youth In Action® (CYIA™) is a summer missions program developed and run by Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF®) staff and volunteers. At this week-long training session, students learn how to effectively share the Gospel message with boys and girls. They are also trained to lead 5-Day Clubs. Participating in CYIA gives students many opportunities to share the Gospel—and witness the miracle of salvation in children who hear and receive the Good News!

Who can attend?

Christian teens who want to serve God. Students must be at least 13 and going into 8th grade through high school (or age 19). Mature 12-year-old students may apply to enter the “Level Blue” track.

Where is it held?

State Training will be held in Turner, Oregon at Aldersgate Camps & Retreats, June 14th-20th, 2025. Transportation is available.

A one-day Pre-Training will be in Roseburg this year on May 10th and is a required part of the application process. Transportation is available for this too.

How much does CYIA cost?

Total cost is due by June 1st
$325 – Training School includes:

– $50 non-refundable registration fee
– Room and board for the week
– 5-Day Club® summer ministry kit
– Notebook and materials
– +$25 Set of ministry t-shirts (required for 1st year students)

What will I be learning to teach?

You will teach in a 5-Day Club during the week of CYIA and at least three more in your local community throughout the summer. You will also have opportunities to serve in other CEF programs throughout the year, such as Christmas and Easter Party Clubs, and other local events. Each local 5-Day Club taught will count as $25 credit toward the following years’ CYIA tuition (caps at $100).

What is Pre-Training?

Because there is so much to learn and training week is only 7 days, we have a mandatory one-day training prior to the camp. This year it is May 10th, 2025 at Melrose Community Church in Roseburg. If you are unavailable, there are options for a make-up.

I’m ready! What are the steps to join CYIA?

Pray about it then apply online (see registration page). Applications are due May 1st. Once your application is complete, Ashely will reach out to you to schedule your interview. This will be a time for us to make sure you are ready to take on the challenge of CYIA and a time for you (and your parent(s)) to ask any questions you might have.
